Christian Ross, 95, of 2475 Orr Rd., Lykens Township, Bloomville, died at 4 a.m. this morning in his home. He had been ill for the past six months.

Born July 27, 1881, in Lykens Township, he was the son of Peter and Elizabeth (Schimpf) Ross. Dec. 25, 1906 he married Laura Beal, who died Sept. 7, 1956.

Four children surive: Marvin Ross, Chatfield; Mrs. Ivan (Mildred) Schiefer, Holmes-Liberty; Clarence Ross, Payson, Ariz.; Mrs. Guy ( Martha) Hackney, at the family home. There are 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Mr. Ross was preceded in death by one daughter, five brothers and three sisters.

He lived his entire life in the Lykens Community and was a farmer. He was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Chatfield.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday in Nazareth Church, with the Rev. George K. Swartzfager officiating. Burial will be in Nazareth Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Calling hours will be observed after 12 noon Saturday in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m.

The family suggests that any memorial donations he made to the charity of the donor's choice.
