Mildred "Fern" Kieffer, 79, of McClure, Ohio died Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at the Whitehouse Country Manor of Whitehouse, Ohio.
She was born June 12, 1928 in Richfield Township, Ohio to the late Albert & Mildred (Orthwein) Richard. On July, 11, 1948 she married James R. Kieffer in Newport, Kentucky, who survives.
Fern graduated in 1948 from the Toledo Hospital School of Nursing. After retirement, she graduated with a B.S.N. from St. Joseph's College of Standish, Maine. She worked as a Registered Nurse for the Henry County Hospital of Napoleon, retiring in 1993. She was a life member of the Westhope Bible Church and member of the American Red Cross, Henry County Hospital Auxiliary, Trade A Plant Club, Henry County Historical Society, Richfield & Bethel Granges, as well as several other organizations.
She is also survived by 2 daughters, Joyce (Jerry) Erven and Nora Kieffer, both of McClure, Ohio, 2 sons, Donald Kieffer of Las Vegas, Nevada, Robert (Jodi) Kieffer of McClure, Ohio, 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, brothers, Bert Richard of McClure, Ohio, and Joe Richard of Trenton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by brothers, Rex, Paul, & Jerry Richard.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008 at the Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon with Pastor James Erven & Pastor Bill Wicks officiating. Interment will follow at the Milton Township cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-8pm on Monday at the Rodenberger Funeral Home of Napoleon.
