OWENSBORO MESSENGER OBITUARY – 06/06/1944
Mrs. Mary Carmel Knott, 54, died at her home at Red Hill at 9:20 a.m. Sunday [June 4, 1944] after a lingering illness. She is survived by her husband, James M. Knott, one daughter Mrs. L.E. Blandford; one grandchild; one brother, Bird Vanover of Arkansas; two sisters, Mrs. Eunice Elliot, Owensboro, and Mrs. Bessie Tyler, Jeffersonville, IN. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. today at St. Anthony's Church, Browns Valley. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Payne, Ross Wilson, Sherman Adams, Ren Salmon, Turmon McPherson and William Wethington.
