James M. Knott, 72, of Fairview Drive, died at 1:15 p.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital after a brief illness. He was born June 23, 1891, in Breckinridge County and had lived in Owensboro for 18 years. He was in the shipping department of the Glenmore Distillery for 11 years. He was a member of the Blessed Mother Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Velma Knott; one son, James Wayne Knott of Owensboro; four daughters, Mrs. Ambrose Blandford, Misses Linda, Patricia and Dianne Knott, all of Owensboro; one brother, Proctor Knott of Browns Valley; two sisters; Mrs. Sherman Howard of Route 3, Owensboro and Sister Rosalia of Mount St. Joseph. The body is at the Owensboro Funeral Home.
