Leoti -- Joseph J. Bauck Sr., 93, died July 17, 2006, at Wichita County Health Center, Leoti. He was born Nov. 13, 1912, near St. Theresa, the son of John C. and Teresa Goetz Bauck.

A Leoti resident, he was a farmer and rancher. He belonged to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Leoti, and was a charter member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 2930, Marienthal, former member of National Cattleman's Association, the Kansas Livestock Association, Soil Conservation and Southwest Kansas Irrigation Association.

In September 1939, he married Maureen Diller. She died Dec. 16, 1941. On Aug. 25, 1948, he married Mary Kreutzer in Marienthal. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Joseph J. Bauck Jr., Leoti; a daughter, Carlotta Brack, Leoti; three brothers, George and Clement, both of Leoti, and Carl, Garden City; two sisters, Margaret Wieser, Leoti, and Lucille Page, Albany, Wis.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a child and two sisters.

Vigil will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Leoti. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, with Father Benjamin Martin presiding. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Leoti. Burial will be in St. Theresa Cemetery, Wichita County.

Memorials may be sent to Leoti EMTs or Wichita County L.T.C.U., in care of the funeral home, Leoti.
