Garden City -- Carl F. Bauck, 88, died July 18, 2006, at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City. He was born June 24, 1918, in Leoti, the son of John C. and Theresa M. Goetz Bauck.

A resident of Garden City since October 1992, moving from Leoti, he was a farmer. He belonged to St. Dominic Catholic Church, Garden City. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6752 and American Legion, both in Leoti, and Knights of Columbus, Marienthal. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.

On May 10, 1948, he married Laura V. Rome in Damar. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, James C., Eastsound, Wash.; two daughters, Connie Barnum, Wichita, and Nancy Bauck, Lancaster, Calif.; two brothers, George C. and Clem J., both of Leoti; two sisters, Margaret Wieser, Leoti, and Lucille Page, Albany, Wis.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and Frank; and two sisters, Gertrude Bauck and Helen Dinkel.

Vigil and Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Dominic Catholic Church, Garden City. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, with Father Joseph Bahr presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Garden City. Interment will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Theresa Cemetery, Wichita County, with military graveside rites conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard.

Memorials may be sent to St. Dominic or St. Anthony Catholic Churches, both in care of the funeral home, Garden City.
