Beloved mother and grandmother of Durand died at age 96 at The Serenity House of Byron on Sunday, October 17, 2010, with a son present.

Agnes Eva Riha was born on January 7, 1914, near Kirby Corners, Corunna, the daughter of Anna nee Hribnak and Matej Riha, both of Morahia, Austria-Hungary. She received her State of Michigan eighth grade diploma on June 14, 1930, and married Joseph F. Drenovsky on September 9, 1933. He predeceased her on December 1, 1983.

Mrs. Drenovsky was a homemaker who loved to cook and bake for family and friends. She cut hair for others from the time she was 10 years old, and loved to garden, growing lots of vegetables, and poppy seed for kolache. She enjoyed watching the birds that came to her feeders. Agnes also delighted in caring for the church's linens and working with her husband Joe on projects in their home, for others, and on church maintenance. They spent many enjoyable years vacationing at Black Lake.

Surviving are children Paul and Rozelta Drenovsky of Bancroft, Richard and Marcia Drenovsky of Chassell, and Jack and Riky Drenovsky of Durand; grandchildren Michael, Michelle, Mitchell, Marshael, Matthew and Shelly Dawn, Marshae and fiance` Jim Walters; Cindy Drenovsky and her spouse Phil Broyles, Chris Erbisch, Rachael Drenovsky and her spouse Tim Costigan; Rebecca Drenovsky and her spouse Joe Stimac; great-grandchildren Nicholas, Joseph, Rachel, Gary, Kelsey, Justin, Kourtney, Sara, Seth, Blake, Brandon, Lilian, and Kai; and great-great-grandchildren Owen, Gary, Jr., Hayden, and Briyana; sister Marie Kentopp, brother Joseph and Mary Frankovich; many nieces, nephews, and cousins in the US, Canada, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia, and special friends.

Agnes was preceded in death by her dear husband Joe; her parents; beloved step-father Frank Frankovich; siblings Anna and Martin Sabatovich, Thomas Riha, Elizabeth and Ben Buck, Frank and Emma Riha, and Mary and Louis Helko; daughter Virginia May Drenovsky, and grandson Timothy Lee Drenovsky; her husband's parents Joseph and Augusta Drenovsky, and his siblings, John and Anna Drenovski, Mary and Joseph Arvoy, Helen and Steve Vencil, Mary Drenovsky, and Julia Drenovsky.

A scriptural service followed by a rosary being prayed was at the Watkins Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Friday, October 22, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Durand, MI with Fr. Jeffrey A. Poll officiating.
Memorials can be made for rememberance Masses or to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

The family thanks Vicki and Brian and their staff at The Serenity House for the loving care given in the last months of her life.
