Mr. Gerk is survived by wife Darlien, Julesburg; Sons Leonard Gerk, Arvada, Allan Gerk,Alliance, Neb., and John Gerk, Denver; daughters Marilyn Fender, Ovid, Rose Lankford, Longmont, and Cathy Wegman,Julesburg; step-children Brian Rewinkel, Casper, Wyo., Douglas Rewinkel, Huntsville, Ala., Karen Rewinkel, Fort Collins, and JoAnn Van Buren, Richmond, Texas; brother Wes Gerk, Sun City West, Ariz.; sister Beatrice Sapp, Denver; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one step- great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lechman Gerk; three brothers; and three sisters.
Memorials can be made to the Sedgwick County Nursing Home in Julesburg.
