Isidore "Izzy" Gerk, 89, died Dec. 28, 2004, at the Sedgwick County Memorial Hospital in Julesburg. Mass of Christian bur ial was held Jan. 3, 2005, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Monsignor Michael Chamberlain officiating.
He was a life-long farmer in Sedgwick County
Mr. Gerk is survived by wife Darlien, Julesburg; Sons Leonard Gerk, Arvada, Allan Gerk,Alliance, Neb., and John Gerk, Denver; daughters Marilyn Fender, Ovid, Rose Lankford, Longmont, and Cathy Wegman,Julesburg; step-children Brian Rewinkel, Casper, Wyo., Douglas Rewinkel, Huntsville, Ala., Karen Rewinkel, Fort Collins, and JoAnn Van Buren, Richmond, Texas; brother Wes Gerk, Sun City West, Ariz.; sister Beatrice Sapp, Denver; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one step- great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lechman Gerk; three brothers; and three sisters.
Memorials can be made to the Sedgwick County Nursing Home in Julesburg.
