Ida Lucinda Tennis was born February 27, 1874 near Ozark, the daughter of Wills and Nancy Tennis. She was first united in marriage to David Holstein and to this union nine children were born. Mr. Holstein passed away Sept. 16, 1912, and four children also preceded her in death, Noah at the age of 15, Harley at the age of 81 years, 7 months and infancy [sic]. She was later married to Nim King and Jim Gonce, both having preceded her in death. Mrs. Gonce was converted and united with the Selmore Baptist Church 40 years ago. She entered into rest at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Louis Moore near Highlandville on October 13, 1955 at the age of 81 years, 7 months and 16 days. Survivors in addition to Mrs. Moore include two daughters, Mrs. William Penniman of Highlandville and Mrs. Lester Hammond of Wenatchee, Wash.; two sons, Jim and David Holstein, both of Nixa; 23 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; one brother, Dick Tennis of California; one sister, Miss Hattie Tennis of Ozark. Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 15, 1955 in the Highlandville Baptist Church with Rev. Roscoe Harding officiating. Burial was in Jones Cemetery under direction of Harris Funeral Home of Nixa
