Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 29, at Lipp and Sullivan Chapel in Marysville. Graveside services will be held at 9 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 30, at the Old Auburn Cemetery, 170 Fulweiler Avenue in Auburn. Burial will take place at Old Auburn Cemetery. A memorial service at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Hollow Way in Nevada City will follow the graveside service at 11 a.m. Bishop Steven Glazier will officiate.
Mr. Gillming was born April 20, 1928, in Kearney, Neb. He lived in the Yuba-Sutter area for 34 years. He worked as a yard foreman for PG&E for 30 years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Marysville.
Mr. Gillming is survived by his wife, Joyce Gillming of Marysville; sons and daughters-in-law Daniel and Sue Gillming of Penn Valley, Clayton and Ann Gillming of Marysville, Steven and Moyne Gillming of New Boston, Texas, Mark and Cindy Gillming of Yuba City, and Jeffrey and Heidi Gillming of Browns Valley; daughters and sons-in-law Julia and Jay Kaze of Roseville, Rebecca and Henry Estrada of Loma Rica, and Pamela and Richard Welch of Rescue; 36 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sister, Berniece Rasmussen, and one grandson.
Memorial contributions may be made to Fremont-Rideout Hospice, 1393 Gray Avenue, Yuba City, CA 95991.
