Mr. Pinto was born in Fort Lee, N.J., on Sept. 3, 1917.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and upon his return became a police officer in the Fort Lee Police Department. He retired as a detective.
Mr. Pinto had been a part-time resident of Laurel for many years before moving there permanently 17 years ago.
Predeceased by his wife, Victoria, and a daughter, Diane Viola, Mr. Pinto is survived by his daughter Patricia, of Nevada; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family received visitors Oct. 4 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. Prayer services were conducted there by Father Walter Rudnicki of Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church in Cutchogue.
Interment with military honors followed at Calverton National Cemetery.
