Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Christ Lutheran church for Rudolph Johannes, 61, who died at 6:45 a.m. Monday at his home, 516 Grove street, after a serious illness of the past three months. Rev. A. J. Brase, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Grace Hill cemetery, under the direction of the Newton funeral home.

Born August 19, 1883, in Columbus, Nebr., Johannes was married November 24, 1912 to Miss Alma Schlosser at Denver, Colo.

Johannes moved to a farm near Enid in 1916, then took up farming near this city in 1920. He was active in agricultural work until five years ago, when failing health forced his retirement. He was a member of the Christ Lutheran church.

Survivors besides the widow are a daughter, Mrs. Alice Beier of Perry; two sons, Sgt. Arnold Johannes, formerly of the 45th division and now at Camp Chaffee, Ark., and Pvt. Earl G. Johannes, somewhere overseas; six sisters, Mrs. Louise Culver, Richland, Neb., Mrs. Martha Walling of Vancouver, Wash., Mrs. Augusta Schlosser of Enid, Mrs. Ida Rameden of Sioux City, Iowa, Miss Laura Abrahm of Detroit, and Miss Ellinor Johannes of San Francisco; and a brother, Herman Johannes of Schuyler, Neb.
