Arnold R. Johannes, 78, Mulhall, died at 11 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 1996, at Mercy Health center in Oklahoma City. Funeral will be at Christ Lutheran church in Perry. Rev. Myron Maltz will officiate. Burial will follow in Grace Hill cemetery.

Johannes was born Oct. 19, 1917, in Enid, the son of Rudolph and Alma (Schlosser) Johannes. He was married May 28, 1945 in Tulsa to Hazel Mae Stanley. The couple established their first home in Tulsa, then moved to Anthony, KS, to Oklahoma City and Bethany and to their home near Mulhall in 1976. Johannes was employed eight years with Santa Fe Trailways; five years with Riss and Co. and 23 years with Trans-Con until he retired in 1983. He was a member of the Mulhall Community club and the Retired Roadrunner club of Oklahoma City.

In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Steve (Carol) Reynold, Oklahoma City; two sons, Gary Johannes, Edmund, and Larry Johannes, Oklahoma City; five grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Cindra Johannes, Yukon; one sister, Alice Beier, Perry; and one brother, Earl Johannes, also of Perry. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Terry Johannes.

Note: He was also a member of Christ Lutheran church, serving on the board of elders; Veterans of Foreign Wars post No. 4578; the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 886, Transcon Retired Road Runner club and the Mulhall Community Club.
