Cecil Spurling
Cecil Spurling, 94, of Lakeland, Fla., former Morristown resident, died Sunday, March 22, 2009, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Lakeland, Fla.
Born June 22, 1914, in Rush County, he was the son of Jesse and Norah (Clark) Spurling.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances Spurling; sons, Jerry Spurling, Stephen Spurling, Gene Spurling and James Spurling; daughters, Melissa Hach and Carol Deom; stepdaughters, Sara Ryse and Sue Rowell; and stepson, Roger Griffin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sons, John Spurling and Gary Spurling.
Mr. Spurling was a carpenter and had worked in construction most of his life.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Carl Coffey officiating.
Interment will be in Star Church Cemetery in Decatur County.
