Private Warren Bushman was living in Show Low, Arizona when he entered the service and was a member of Company M, 3rd Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry
Division.

He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on October 11, 1951 and was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal. The Korean War Project Remembrance lists that Warren was killed in
the Chorwon Area. That was designated as North Korean territory at
the time

Official notification has been received by Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Bushman in Show Low that their son, Warren Mitchell, was killed in action in Korea on Oct.
11, 1951. He enlisted in the Army in January this year, after attending Brigham Young University one semester in Provo, Utah.
Born on July 17, 1932, he attended grammar school in Show Low, and was graduated from Snowflake Union High School with the class of 1950. He entered Brigham Young University the same autumn, leaving in January
for military service.
He was an honor trainee at Camp Roberts CA, receiving a special M-1 rifle award, and then he received further training at Camp Hanibird MD, before leaving for overseas on July 25, 1951. While aboard the ship "Buckner", he conducted LDS church services.
As a Machine gunner in Company M, 3rd Battalion, he participated in the battles for Heartbreak Ridge, and saw heavy fighting throughout the late summer and early fall on the Korean battlefields.
A youth, he was a Star Scout and attended the National Boy Scout Jamboree at Valley Forge, Penn, in July 1950.
