She was born January 13, 1928, on a farm south of Kelly, KS, the daughter of Ferdinand J. and Dora Haverkamp Steinlage. She graduated from St. Bede's High School in Kelly, in 1945. She was employed at the Hallmark Store in Hiawatha following high school.
On August 12, 1953, she married Kenneth J. Olberding at St. Bede's Church. He survives at the home. They lived and farmed at their present home west of St. Benedict. They celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in August.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Altar Society at the church in St. Benedict. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, gardening and flowers. She had a special love for her grandchildren.
Survivors besides her husband, Kenny, are son, Larry Olberding, Seneca; daughters, Jane Knieling, Cookeville, TN; Alice Schmitz, Frankfort, KS; Susan Rodenbaugh, Silver Lake, KS; Mary Jo Mason, Wichita, KS; brothers, Francis Steinlage, Corning, KS; Norbert Steinlage, Corning, KS; Elton Steinlage, Corning, KS; Ronald Steinlage, Corning, KS; sisters, Melita Bodensteiner, Waucoma, IA; Alma Kramer, Goff, KS; Geraldine Kramer, Corning, KS; and 14 grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Mary's Church, St. Benedict, KS. Burial was in the church cemetery.
