She was born September 22, 1922 in Fruitvale to Oscar and Zula Allen Hazel. She was a homemaker and had lived in Mabank since 1990. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the American Legion #310 and VFW #4376.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Peterson; sons, Mike Bridwell and Gary Bridwell; daughter, Shirley Glover; and sister, Betty Schmidt.
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Bobby Bridwell, Mabank, and Ronnie and Donna Bridwell, Philadelphia, Pa.; daughter and son-in-law, Jo Marie and Harlen Elkins, Odessa; brothers and sister-in-law, J.R. Hazel and O.D. and Billie Hazel, all of Fruitvale; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers included Jim Hazel, Jimmy Woodrum, David Hazel, Richard Hazel, Bobby Ray Bridwell and Matt Hazel.
