Elmer John Spindler of Crestline, born in Stratford, Wisconsin, had lived in Crestline for forty-five years, died of pneumonia on Saturday at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Fontana at the age of 80. He was a carpenter at Marty's Construction for 32 years and also at George Taylor Construction. He was also a volunteer firefighter for the Crest Forest Fire District and was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons. He was survived by his wife, Lelah of Crestline, a son, Robert of Crestline, a daughter, Dorothy Bybee of Garden Grove, four brothers, all in Wisconsin, Erwin of Rothschild, Arnolf of Stratford and Herman and Ray, both of Eau Claire, a sister, Iola Doescher of Wasusau, Wisconsin, six grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. Graveside service is set for 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Montecito Memorial Park in Colton.
