STACYVILLE, IA - Tony Halbach, 73, died at Mercy Hospital at Mason City Thursday of a heart attack.

He was the son of Michael and Mary Krause Halbach, born near Stacyville; spent his whole life in this community.

He leaves his wife; the former Gertrude Simon, whom he married Jan. 23, 1907, and seven children: Priscilla Cornelius and Ronald at home; Mrs. Marvin Heimer, Austin, Minnesota; Mrs. Walter Durben, Mrs. F. J. Brown and Mrs. Lawrence Klapperich, all of Stacyville; 19 grandchildren; three brothers: Pete, Charles City; Ernie and Nicolas, Stacyville; one sister, Mrs. Pete Theobold, Stacyville; three sisters: Frances, La Crosse, Wisconsin; Sister Juliaa, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; ad Mrs. Joe Brum, Stacyville; one brother, John, preceded him in death.

He was engaged in farming all his life. He was stricken Monday and taken to Mercy Hospital Tuesday. He was a Catholic and member of St. Joseph's society. He lived on the same farm the last 30 years. Funeral was Saturday.
