Martha and David's stones are marked only "MN" and "DN". David was a soldier in the Revolutionary War. David and Jonathan were in the Militia in Brandon's Regiment and Thomas was in Lt. Col Sam Hammond's Regiment.

He was very active in the Padgett's Creek Baptist Church and can be found mentioned many times in their minutes. His wife, Martha Story Norman, died in 1835. She and David are both buried in the Padgett's Creek Baptist Church cemetery. They had eleven children, all born in Union Co., S.C.
