William Sander was born September 16, 1868 in Diepholz, Germany and passed away at his home at 815 East 17th Street on January 17, 1957. He came to this country with his family when he was 14 years old.
On March 9, 1890 he married Johanna Bruns. To this marriage were born eight chldren. One died in infancy. Mr. Sander and his family moved to a farm north of Buda in March, 1906. On October 5, 1943, he married Theckla Johnston.
Surviving are his wife Theckla; three daughters, Mrs. Minnie Drake of Beatrice, Mrs. Margaret "Maggie" Halkyard and Mrs. Anna Gillming of Auburn, California; four sons, Edward of Auburn, California, Arthur of Yuba City, California, Harold of Folsom, California, and Alfe of Kearney; three brothers, George of Leigh, Adolph of Columbus and Herman of Omaha; one sister, Mrs. Louise Backenhaus of Leigh, and 14 grandchildren.
