She was the former Jean A. Spielvogel, born April 9, 1951 in Sheboygan, daughter of the late Claude and Verena (Tesch) Spielvogel.
On April 6, 1971 she married Michael Strebe at the Army Chapel in Ayer, MA.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kiel.
The most important thing in Jean's life was spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time in her flower garden, playing the guitar and listening to music, boating and snowmobiling. She was artistic and enjoyed working on crafts, playing with her pets and spending time at her home on Cedar Lake.
Survivors include her husband, Mike; three sons, Jason (Melissa) Strebe of Spring Grove, IL, Travis (Cindy) Strebe, Stockbridge, Brian Strebe and special friend, Nikki Woodyard of New Holstein; six grandchildren, JR, Kyra and Makenna, Alex, Carter and Caleb. She is further survived by her brothers and sisters; Gloria (Jerome) Heisdorf of Elkhart Lake, Wayne (Shirley) Spielvogel of Sheboygan, Janice (Stanley) Spalinger of MO, Daniel (Sue) Spielvogel of Shawano, Claudia (Jack) Schaller of FL, Mary (Jon) Fox of IL; her mother-in-law, Delores E. Strebe, Sheboygan; sister-in-law, Diane (Tom) Boneck, Valders.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Spielvogel and father-in-law, Marvin Strebe.
A memorial service for Jean will be held June 28, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 387 Cemetery Road, Kiel, with Rev. David Laabs officiating. In Jean's loving spirit of giving and always helping others, her body was donated to the Medical College at Froedtert so that others might benefit from her.
