Husband of Phyllis Jean Blumer Nemic (wife of Albert Hulquist)

Robert "Dale" Schifer, 51, of 5117 Bethel Rd., died Wednesday, Jan. 20, in Bucyrus Community Hospital. He had been seriously ill the past 1 1/2 months.

Mr. Schifer was born May 29, 1930 in Lykens Twp., Crawford County, to Carl R. Schifer, who preceded him in death, and Arletta (Miller) Schifer, who survives at 5677 Knauss Rd., Sycamore.

Mr. Schifer is survived by four children, Mrs. Dennis (Pamela) Burns of Seattle, Wash.; Lyle Robert Schifer of Casper, Wyo.; Lynette Guilliams of Medical Lake, Wash., and Sharon Schifer of Spokane, Wash., and one grandchild.

Mr. Schifer is also survived by four brothers, Paul, Fred and Ralph Schifer, all of Bucyrus, and Vern Shifer of Lacomb, Ore., and five sisters, Mrs. Wayne (Bertha) Rothlisberger of Upper Sandusky; Mrs. Charles (Lucille) Estermyer of New Port Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Rudy (Mildred) Sharky of Barberton; Mrs. George (Barbara) Miller of Marion and Mrs. James (Helen) Case of Bucyrus.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Earl.

Mr. Schifer moved back to the area in 1976. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force with 20 years in service. He attended Lykens High School.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home. Rev. John E. Kerr will officiate and burial will be in Brokensword Cemetery.

Friends may call anytime after noon Friday at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

The family suggests memorials be in the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
