Frances Twist was born in Manhattan, she grew up on Barclay Street in Hicksville, Long Island, New York. She is the daughter of George Louis Emmel and Mary Huggard Emmel. Her sisters include Elizabeth (Emmel) Chelstron, Agnes (Emmel)Pfleger, and Mildred (Emmel) Thieme. Brothers John, Eddie, and George. She raised her 4 boys and one girl on the family farm in Edmonston. She moved back to Hicksville, then Belleview, Florida to retire. She enjoyed her time playing cards and at the local bingo hall.



-- Frances Agnes Twist, 84, a homemaker, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 1997, at Surrey Place Convalescent Center. A native of New York City, Mrs. Twist came here from Long Island, N.Y., in 1967. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Theresa Ann Benson of Belleview; sons, Robert E. Twist of Madeira Beach, George Twist of Cibolo, Texas, Charles Twist of Franklin, Ga., and Kenneth Twist of Belleview; sister, Mildred Thieme of Sandpoint, Idaho; brother, George Emmel of West Palm Beach; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Belleview Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
