DANIEL A. WESTRICK, 62, of Fort Wayne, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at Lutheran Hospital. He was born the son of Daniel R. and Madora "Peggy" Westrick of Fort Wayne, serving in the U.S. Army from June of 1966 to October of 1967. He worked as a crossing guard for the Fort Wayne Police Department Adult School Crossing since 1995, prior to being promoted to head coordinator in 1997. He is survived by his brother, Steven G. Westrick of Kentland, Ind.; his sister, Jane Chapman of Yoder; ex-wife, Jean Westrick of Fort Wayne; children, Stephen A. Westrick of Farmington, Minn., Patricia A. Coss of Traverse City, Mich., Daniel J. Westrick and Carolyn S. Westrick, both of Fort Wayne; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sons, Patrick and Joseph Westrick. Funeral Mass is 2 p.m. Monday at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, with calling one hour prior at the church. Burial in Prairie Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family. Funeral arrangements by Tom Mungovan Funeral Home, 2221 S. Calhoun Street, Fort Wayne.
