Eliza Maye Scott, 87, died Saturday evening, February 1, 1986 in the South Big Horn Hospital in Greybull after a long illness. She was born October 19, 1898 in Ionia, Star Valley, Wyoming, the daughter of Joseph Smith and Lucinda Isabell Bassett Nebel. She came to the Big Horn Basin as a child. On April 26, 1919 she married Herschel Wallace Scott in Basin, Wyoming. They lived on a farm near Kane, Wyoming and ran the post office in Kane until 1939 when they moved to Greybull, Wyoming. Mr. Scott died March 29, 1980. Mrs. Scott was a lifetime member of the L.D.S. Church and was an active member of the Relief Society organization of the church. She enjoyed sewing and quilting.

Survivors include two sons, H.D. Scott of Greybull and Joe Scott of Toledo, Ohio; one daughter, Barbara Heward of Torrington, Wyoming; one brother, Harvey Nebel of Lovell; one sister, Ona Baird of Cowley, Wyoming; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, LaMar, who was lost in the submarine service during WWII.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, February 5, 1986 at 1:00 p.m. in the Greybull-Basin L.D.S. Chapel with Bishop Jess Black officiating. Burial will be in the Lovell Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Greybull Ward Relief Society Fund would be appreciated. Haskell Funeral Home of Lovell is in charge of arrangements.
