Mrs. Harriet Henderson Dies at Uniontown Home
UNIONTOWN, Nov. 29.—Mrs Harriet Woodward Henderson, 87 years old, died at 9 50 o'clock Monday night at her home at 48 South Gallatin avenue after a short illness of pneumonia.
With her when death came were three children. Judge Davis W. Henderson, Isaac Henderson and Mrs. Mary H. Keener, all of Uniontown.
Mrs. Henderson was the daughter of Davis Woodward nnd Mary Boyd Woodward of Dunbar township and spent her early girlhood in Dunbar township. After her marriage to Steward Henderson she established her home in Franklin township. Mr. and Mrs. Henderson were both members of pioneer Fayette county families, their ancestry in Fayette county extending back to the early 1700s.
Mr. and Mrs. Henderson resided in Franklin township until 30 years ago when they moved to Uniontown Mr. Henderson died about 15 years ago.
Until about four years ago, when it became impossible for her to move around with her accustomed vigor, Mrs. Henderson was active In the work of the church. She had been a lifelong member of the Presbyterian faith, being affiliated with the Laurel Hill and Pleasant View Presbyterian churches until she came to Uniontown at which time she transferred her membership to the Second Presbyterian Church of this city.
The funeral service will be held at the home in Gallatin avenue at 2 30 o'clock Thursday afternoon, December 1, in charge of Rev. James C. Clark, pastor of her church Burial will be in the family plot in Oak Grove Cemetery.
