C. Ziegler Service Set for Saturday



Christian Ziegler, 83, retired farmer, died Wednesday evening at a Rockwell nursing home. He had lived in the Rockwell community for 46 years.

Mr. Ziegler was born April 11, 1874, in Germany, son of John and Mary (Remp) Ziegler. He came to the United States at the age of 17 and moved to the Meservy area, later moving to Rockwell.

He operated a harness business there and a similar business at Geneva. He returned to the Rockwell area and began farming. He retired in 1930.

Mr. Ziegler was a member of the Rockwell Congregational Church and served on the board many years.

Surviving are his wife, Bertha; a son, Sherman, Wilmington, Del.; a daughter, Mrs. Ludd (Stella) Sturges, Rockwell; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a brother, Gabriel Ziegler, Smith Center, Kan.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Rockwell Congregational Church. The Rev. Herman A. Crawford will officiate. Burial will be in the Rockwell Cemetery. Friends may call at the Patterson-James Rockwell Funeral Chapel from Friday until noon Saturday.
