COURIER JOURNAL OBITUARY – 06/13/2006 – STARLIGHT
KOETTER – Edward J. Jr., 71, died Monday, June 12, 2006, at Providence Retirement Home in New Albany. He is survived by his dedicated and loving wife of 50 years, Mary (Loew) Koetter; daughters, Becky Missi (Mike) of Starlight, IN, Brenda Brown (Pat) of Greenville, IN, and Maria Merrill (Tres) of Gig Harbor, WA; son, Bruce Koetter (Lisa) of New Albany, IN; brothers, Bob & Tom Koetter; nine grandchildren; and was awaiting the birth of his first great-grandchild. The son of the late Edward J. Koetter Sr. and Lucille (Klein) Koetter, Ed was born October 9, 1934 in Lenexa, KS. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Koetter; and a sister, Mary Jean Smith. Ed was best known for his work at Koetter Construction Company and his selfless service to family and friends. He served in the Indiana National Guard and was a member of the Cardinal Ritter Council #1221 Knights of Columbus and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Starlight, IN. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2006, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Starlight, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2006, at Generations Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Ln., New Albany). There will be a prayer service at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to Providence Retirement Home.
