Funeral services for Alfred J. Macias, 73, of Leesville were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2006, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Leesville, Father Kenneth Michels officiated. Burial followed at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Leesville under the direction of the Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville. Mr. Macias retired from the U.S. Army as a command sergeant major after 29 years. He is survived by his wife, Betty Macias of Leesville; sons, Maj. (Ret.) Alfred J. Macias, Jr., and wife, Karen, of Cibolo, Texas, and Ray Macias and wife, Regine, of Aberdeen, Scotland; daughter, Debbie Carr and husband, Paul, of LaCenter, Wash.; sisters, Frances Boykin of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Connie Tracy of Pensacola, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Eric Macias, Renee Macias, Tess Macias, Zoe Macias, Christy Nichol and husband, Scott, Matt Carr and wife, Angie, Arron Carr and James Carr; and three great grandchildren, Blake Carr, Hayden Nichol and Foster Nichol.
