In the 1860 census, Joseph and wife Elizabeth were living with a son Eli (Elias?, age 23), Samuel Peoples (age 52) (brother of Elizabeth) and Esther Laborde House Maid (age 19). [The compiler of this database recalls seeing at least one headstone for two Laborde family members in June 2016]. The 1860 census indicated Joseph and Elizabeth owned real estate valued at $3500. Their home neighbored that of son Thomas. Joseph's brother Isaac also lived close.
