Wayne was born in Brown Township and died at Knox Community Hospital, Mount Vernon, Knox, Ohio.
He attended Jelloway School and graduated from Loudonville High School. He taught at Oak Grove School in Ashland County, Ohio (Mohican Forest area) and later married one of his former students, Mollie M. Schwartz.
They had 3 children. He later taught at Bellville Elementary School, Bellville, Ohio. Later, Mollie worked as a cafeteria cook there also. He and Mollie worked their 140 acre farm while at the same time working at Bellville School. He taught Sunday School at the Butler EUB Church, Butler, Ohio. Later he served as the Minister of the North Bend Church of the Brethren. He filled in as minister of several other small churches when he was needed.
Following Mollie's death, he married Eva J. Nyhart. They were married on June 28, 1970 in Knox county, Ohio.
