Martha was born on October 27, 1918, in Logan County, ND, to Jacob and Paulina (Hagel) Albrecht.
She married Ludwig Kienzle on September 30, 1940. They made their home on a farm near Streeter, ND. To this union five children were born; one daughter, DeLoris, three sons, Harley, Gary, and Ronnie, and one son who died in infancy. Ludwig passed way in 1950.
She lived in Steele, ND, and raised her four children doing domestic work and cooking at the Steele School until 1976 when she married Edward Freier and moved to Bismarck. There she worked as a cook in Wilmore School until her retirement. Edward passed away in 1998 and she then moved to Liberty Heights in Mandan and later to Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center in Bismarck.
Martha will always be remembered for her excellent cooking and baking skills.
Martha is survived by one daughter, DeLoris (Vern) Unrath of Bismarck; three sons, Harley Kienzle of Fort Morgan, CO, Gary (Linda Dewitz) Kienzle of Washburn, ND, and Ronnie Kienzle (special friend, Kathy) of Mandan, ND; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Walter Albrecht of Mandan and Ray (Fern) Albrecht of Bismarck; and one sister, Romona (Ervin) Wanner of Bismarck.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and seven brothers.
Funeral services were held at Eastgate Steele Chapel with Rev. Dale Nabben officiating. Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery in Steele.
