BITTNER RITES HELD TUESDAY
Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon from the Tuecke funeral chapel for Realto E. "Bob" Bittner, 83, who died Sunday morning at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital where he had been hospitalized for the past five weeks.
The services were conducted by Rev. Martin Miller, pastor of the Guttenberg Methodist church and pallbearers for the rites were Richard Duwe, Sr., August Morarend, Arno Morarend, Junior Bittner, Oakland Becker, and Ora Duwe. Burial was in the Guttenberg City cemetery.
Mr. Bittner was born December 20, 1879, in Guttenberg (sic/Jefferson Twp), the son of Mr. and Mrs. Emmanuel Bittner. On November 7, 1906, he married Augusta Anderson at Superior, Wisconsin, where Mr. Bittner made his home for a time. He was a farmer by occupation.
Surviving Mr. Bittner are two daughters, Mrs. Reuben White of Garnavillo and Mrs. Roma Minger of Guttenberg. Also surviving are a brother, John Bittner of Guttenberg and a sister, Mrs. Roma Heins of Luana, as well as two grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Mr. Bittner was preceded in death by Mrs. Bittner who died June 29, 1947, by a brother William, and an infant sister.
