ROMA HEINS RITES
Services for Mrs. Roma Ida Heins, 85, of Guttenberg were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home and were conducted by the Rev. L.C. Urlaub, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Heins died at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, 1883 at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital.
Burial was in Guttenberg City Cemetery with the following pallbearers: Michael Duwe, Nicholas Dietz, Robert Sutton, Eugene Behrend, Bob Behrend, Ted McNally and Rick Mueller.
Mrs. Heins was a daughter of Theodore E. and Ida Morarend Bittner and was born near Guttenberg, Jan. 16, 1898. On Nov. 25, 1915 she was united in marriage to Louis Heins in his home near Luana. He died May 17, 1953. The family farmed near Guttenberg and Luana and in 1964 Mrs. Heins moved to Guttenberg. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville.
She is survived by ten daughters, Mrs. Leo (Violet) McNally of Postville, Mrs. Freddy (Roma) Lahrs of Elkader, Mrs. Harold (Hazel) Anderegg of Council Bluffs, Birdina Behrend of Milwaukee, Wis., Mrs. Francis (Ida Mae) Behrend of Colesburg, Mrs. Glenn (LaVonne) Mueller of Elkader, Mrs. Henry (Betty Lou) Geick of Guttenberg, Mrs. William (Shirley Mae) Sutton of Garnavillo, Mrs. Richard (Rose Marie) Duwe of Garnavillo and Mrs. William (Gerene) Morarend of Guttenberg; 35 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her husband, one son, Cyril, and a grandson.
