Graveside services for Floyd Harve Carey, Jr., 81, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at Forest Park West Cemetery. Officiating will be Ken Irby and Matt Rawle from Broadmoor United Methodist Church. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2009, at Rose-Neath Southside.

Mr. Carey was born on January 13, 1928, in Saline, Louisiana, to Lela Mae Holman and Floyd Harve Carey, Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Shreveport, Louisiana. He worked for Camus Electric as an electrician for 35 years. He was also a proud member of the IBEW 194 for 60 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was always a brave, strong, hardworking role model for his family.

Mr. Carey was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Marjorie McElroy and Janice Kent; and brothers, Leford Carey and Douglas Carey. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Winnie Carey; son, Mike Carey and wife, Pam; daughters, Lynne Givens and husband, Tim, Denise Earnest and husband, Ron, and Diane Sexton and husband, Mark; sisters, Mae Feinberg, Joan Paul and husband, Charles, Janet Maloy and husband, Fred, and Jane Carey; brother, James Carey and wife, Miggie; and grandchildren, Chris and Lindsey Carey, Carey Givens, Ryan, Katie, and Kelly Sexton.

Honorary Pallbearers are Tim Givens, Mark Sexton, Ron Earnest, Carey Givens, Ryan Sexton, and Chris Carey.

The family would like to thank all of his wonderful doctors and caregivers, especially Gary Hughes, who helped him over the last three years.
