Miss Roxy Carter, 76, a lifelong resident of Hillisburg, died at 5 o'clock Wednesday morning at the Clinton County Hospital, following a 10-day illness.
Miss Carter was born at Hillisburg on May 3, 1893, the daughter of John A. and Viola Baker Carter. She had made her home with her parents for many years, looking after them until their deaths.
She was a member of the Hillisburg Methodist Church and the church's Women's Society of Christian Service. She also was a member of the Hillisburg chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.
Miss Carter is survived by two brothers, Earl F. and Byrl D. Carter, both of Hillisburg; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Dana Carter of Wesley Manor, Frankfort; and two nephews, James and Frederic Carter, both of Anderson.
A brother, Pearl Carter, preceded her in death.
The body of the deceased was taken to the Goodwin Funeral Home, where friends may call after 3 p.m. today.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, with Rev. R. Neil Anderson officiating, and entombment will be made in the Greenlawn Mausoleum.
