Bom in Nuremberg, Germany, on November 5, 1850, she came to America at the age of four years with her parents, Peter and Catherine Miller Cafler. They settled at Frye's Bush. In October, 1866, she was married to Peter S. Leonhardt, who died ln May, 1900. Shortly after their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Leonhardt came to reside in Fonda.
Mrs. Leonhardt was a devout and faithful member of the Fonda Reformed church.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. George Gross of Fort Plain, Mrs. Minnie Vosburgh of Johnstown, Mrs. Francis Van Buren of Gloversville, Mrs. Edward Tinneman of New York City, and Mrs. Willard Bassler of Schenectady; two sons, Charles F. Leonhardt of Mohawk, and Attorney J. H. Leonhardt of Fonda; seven grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P. M. on Wednesday at the home. Rev. J. F. Durfee, pastor of the Reformed church of Fonda, will officate. Interment will be in the family plot, Fort Plain cemetery.
