The Fremont Tribune
Richard E. Bowman, 87, of Alliance, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 1999, in Box Butte General Hospital in Alliance. He was born Jan. 30, 1912, in Uehling. He attended high school in Fremont. His family moved to the Berea area in 1929 and then to Alliance in 1939.
He married Olga G. Leu Jan. 28, 1942, in Alliance. She survives. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Survivors also include: three daughters, Pam (Mrs. Bill) Miller of Alliance, Susan (Mrs. Rockie) Smith of Martin, S.D., and Ginger (Mrs. Jerry) Rucker of St. Paul, Minn.; a son, Marvin (Mrs. Tammy) Bowman of Lusby, Md.; eight grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and a grandson.
The funeral service was Aug. 21 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alliance. The Revs. Martin T. Schnare and Richard C. Mueller officiated. Burial was in Alliance Cemetery. Bates-Gould Funeral Home in Alliance was in charge of arrangements.
