Olga Gertrude Bowman went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday,
January 30, 2005 after a lengthy battle with emphysema. She stayed
positively focused on her Lord's love and forgiveness for her as a
brain tumor distorted her thinking the past few months, but she
trusted the Lord to take her home in His own timing.

She was born February 21, 1916 in Cuming County, Nebraska near
Wisner to Johannes Christian Asmus and Emma Bernadine (Suhr) Leu.
Her family moved to Bushnell, NE in her youth and came to Alliance
in 1933. Olga graduated from Alliance High School the following
year. On January 30, 1942 she married Richard Edward Bowman in
Alliance.

Olga was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday
school teacher and a member of Ladies Aide for many years. She
enjoyed assembling and hand quilting beautiful quilts that she made
for her family and friends. Her other pastimes included playing
cards, difficult crossword puzzles and crypto quotes word games.

Her survivors include children, Pamela (William) Miller of Alliance,
NE, Marvin (Tammy) Bowman of Lusby, MD, Susan (Rockie) Smith of
Martin, SD, and Virginia (Jerry) Rucker of St. Paul, MN. Her
grandchildren Wendy (James) Martin of Cedar Hills, TX, Alicia Bowman
and Daniel Bowman of Lusby, MD,Jason (Cindy) Smith of Denver, CO,
Anthony (Terah) Smith of Overton, NE, Janell (Jay) Yohner of Tigard,

of Ramsey, MN also survive her. Other survivors include her seven
great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was
preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, seven sisters,
