Katherine Elizabeth Indorf, daughter of George and Mary Indorf, was born Jan 1, 1885 on a farm southwest of Guide Rock, NE in Webster County and departed the life at the age of 65 years, 5 months, and 8 days, As a small child she moved with her parents to Cheyenne County, Kansas, where they settled on a homestead northwest of St Francis, where she grew to womanhood. Later she returned to Guide Rock where she was united in marriage to George Karnatz, July 6, 1909. To this union were born two children, Sylvia Hulbert of Guthrie Center, Iowa who preceded her mother in death and Henry of Burr Oak, Kansas.
Beside her husband, son and six grandchildren she leaves to mourn her departure six brothers and sisters and four half brothers and sisters and a host of nieces and nephews; Mary Kelley of Coldwater, Kansas; John Indorf of St Francis, Kansas; Anna Harlow of Casper, Wyoming, George Indorf of Denver, Colorado; Amelia Karnatz and Maggie Wilton of Bostwick, Nebraska, Henry Indorf of Wapato, Washington, Fritz Indorf of St Francis, Kansas, Lydia Wahrman of Bird City, Kansas, Arline Wilson of Portland, Oregon, Gustav Indorf, half brother preceded her in death. When a small child she was baptized in the Methodist church. She was a kind and loving mother and a friend to all who knew her. No task was to large and no day to long. When help was needed by others she was always ready to assist in any way she could. She was a faithful wife and mother until her passing. She asked no one to do for her what she could do for herself. She leaves many relatives and friends to who devoted her unselfish friendship and she will be especially missed in the farm community near Burr Oak where she spent all her married life. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist Church Rev C L Johnson officiated. Music was furnished by a duet consisting of Mr & Mrs Orville Hafner, accompanied at the piano by Marilyn Lewis. The pallbearers were William Yetter, Floyd Myers, Arthur Birch, Douglas Gillett, Robert Garman and Dow Stansbury.
