At the time of her death at Calhoun Care Center, Mamie was 82 years and 3 months old. She was survived by 1 son, Leroy Hagen of Hamburg, Illinois; 4 daughters, Marian Kirn of Golden Eagle, Joan Smith of Argo, Illinois, Mary "Jane" Hagen of St. Charles, Missouri, and Janet Caselton of Carlinville, Illinois; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Kathryn Hagen of Alton.
In addition to her parents, Mamie was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; 2 sisters, Lena Cappel and Annie Bimslager; 1 brother, Harry Bimslager; and a son-in-law, Paul William "Bill" Caselton.
Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m. on 30 Jan 1990 at Hanks Funeral Home in Hardin. A prayer service took place at 6:30 p.m. A Knights of Columbus rosary was recited there at 8 p.m. A funeral Mass was conducted at 10 a.m. the following morning at St. Norbert's Catholic Church in Hardin. Mamie was buried next to her husband, Lawrence, who passed away in 1971.
The family requested that memorials, if desired, be made to St. Norbert's Catholic School or to the Calhoun County Ambulance Service.
