Born in Franklin Twp., Washington Co., Pennsylvania, soon to become Greene Co. (1796), Peter resettled with his family to Coshocton Co., Ohio about 1820. He had married a Mary McElwee/Tustin c1812, we're really not sure of her suranme. He fathered at least four possibly five children prior to his premature death at the age of 34. He died within a month or two of his father, Peter Dillon Sr., and was buried near an oak tree complex which eventually carried his grave monument some ten feet or so above the ground, where it remained until about 2005, when a severe storm brought down the oak tree complex and the Peter Dillon Jr. grave monument. Though factured into 8 to 10 pieces, the inscription was still largely legible after 182 years. PHOTO SEQUENCE from the bottom up - (1) 1940s photo of embedded Peter Dillon Jr. gravestone 8-10 feet above the ground (note T. O. Dillon's (photographer and prominent Peter Dillon family researcher) car behind the oak tree complex); (2) oak tree complex over Peter Dillon Sr. grave monument; (3) Peter Dillon Jr. grave marker returned to earth following the falling of the oak tree complex.
