Emanuel Hershfeldt, 84, of Sterling, died Nov. 1, 1996 in Sterling.
Visitation is until 6 p.m. today at the Tennant Funeral Home. A rosary and vigil service will be at 6 p.m. tonight. The funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert Whipkey officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Hershfeldt was born June 1, 1912 to Andrew and Frances (Lell) Hershfeldt in Pifeifer, Russia. His family moved to the U.S. when he was one year old. He grew up in the Crook Community, where he attended school. He be came a U.S. Citizen at 21.
He married Teresa Zink on April 30, 1935 in Iliff. The couple then moved to Denver where he worked at C.F. Card and Iron. They lived in Denver for seven years, but moved back to Iliff in 1943 to farm. He farmed until he retired in 1970, when they moved to Sterling.
He is survived by four sons, Raymond of Westminster, Emanue1 Jr. of Sterling, John of Fleming and Joseph of Rushville, Neb.; four daughters, Teresa Arnold of Brighton, Mary Rogers of Fort Collins, Frances Rhodes of Sterling and Linda Walsh of Laramie, Wyo.; six sisters; a brother; 27 grandchildren and 15 great-grand children.
He was preceded in death by his wife Teresa in 1991, a son, two sisters and a brother.
The memorial contributions will be given to St. Anthony's Catholic Church for masses.
