Rosemary Polfer, 78, of Big Rock, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2002, at Provena Mercy Center Hospital. She was born September 4, 1924, in Sedgwick County, Colorado, the daughter of the late Andrew and Frances Hershfeldt. Rose was a member of Resurrection EvangelicalLutheran Church in Aurora. Survivors include her son, Gary (Cindy) Polfer of Big Rock, IL; her brother, John J. Hershfeldt of Colorado; five sisters, Florence Kippes of Colorado, Catherine Mari of Colorado, Anne Klug of Elk Grove Village, Veronica Hershfeldt of Mt. Prospect and Mary Devie of Colorado, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph B. Polfer in 1993; two brothers, Andrew Hershfeldt Jr. and Emmanuel Hershfeldt and two sisters, Helen Hersh and Frances Hoyt. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, November 22, 2002, at Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church at North Indian Trail and Deerpath Roads in Aurora. Rev. Philip Schupmann will officiate. Interment will take place at Welsh South Big Rock Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. on Thursday, November 21, 2002 at The Healy Chapel, 370 Division Dr., Sugar Grove and from 10 A.M. until the funeral hour on Friday at the church.
