Johannes Eichhorn was born in Dönhof, Russia. He was the son of Johann Wilhelm Eichhorn and Catharina M. Schmidt. He married Charlotta Fritzler 1889 in Russia. The family immigrated to America in 1907 and settled first in Hastings, Nebraska and later answered a calling to Odessa, Washington. Eleven known children were born to this marriage: Lydia, Amelia, Eugene, Hanna, Martha, Pauline, Carl, Paul, and Arthur; two died young at Kolb, Johannes (1896-1899) and Julias 1898-1899) Eichhorn .
