Mrs. J.F. Daubert Funeral Services Held Saturday
Funeral services for Mrs. John F. Daubert, a pioneer resident of Carnegie were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the First Methodist church with Rev. Bascom Doak, pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Carnegie cemetery.
Mrs. Daubert sustained a broken hip May 7, 1960,k and had been hospitalized since that time. She later suffered a stroke and a few months ago had her right limb amputated. She died late Thursday, June 29, in the Municipal hospital at Norman after contracting pneumonia.
Mary Katherin Schmidt was born to Mr. and Mrs. Pete Schmidt in Schelling, Germany on June 28, 1874. She came with her parents to America when 18 years of age. The family first settled at Hillsboro, Kansas. She was married to John Fred Daubert at Marion, Kansas, on February 11, 1894. Six children were born to them. A son, Edgar, preceded her in death February 10, 1924.
Mr. and Mrs. Daubert came to Carnegie February 4, 1904, and lived where Mrs. George Adkins, Sr. now lives. In 1918 they moved to the farm home a mile and a half south of town. Mr. Daubert died March 13, 1958.
Mrs. Daubert had been a member of the Lutheran church for many years.
Surviving her are three sons, Fred of Carnegie, Charles of San Antonio and Ralph of Mathis, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. C.B. Murdock, Norman, and Mrs. Amelia Tucker, Santa Clara, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Nightingale, Wichita, and Mrs. Helen Warren, San Francisco; one brother, Pete Schmidt of Pasadena, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including Harold Steinly and Lavon Shelton, Carnegie.
Attending the services from out of town were all of the children except Mrs. Tucker, her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Nightingale and son of Wichita, her brother-in-law, Dave Daubert, Hobart, his two sons, Don and Will Daubert, Gotebo, and a granddaughter, Mrs. Lois Daubert, San Antonia.
