Grace Gayle Needham was born Feb. 26, 1915, in Fort Worth. She attended Marsh Private School, W.C. Stripling High School and the University of Texas at Austin, where she pledged Pi Beta Phi. She was a member of University Christian Church, a sustaining member of the Junior League of Fort Worth and a member of The Assembly, River Crest Country Club and The Fort Worth Club.
During World War II, she was a member of the Red Cross Grey Ladies, serving at Carswell Air Force Base Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oran Franklin Needham; her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Will Ross Gayle; and her brother, Frank B. Gayle.
Survivors: Her daughter, Gayle Needham Hill and her husband, William, of Fort Worth; son, Patrick Oran Needham and his wife, Michele, of Fort Worth; granddaughters, Lou Murrin of Paris, France, and Jill Franke and her husband, Doug, of Fort Worth; grandsons, Stephen Murrin III and his wife, Pamela, and Philip Murrin and his wife, Sarah, all of Fort Worth, Michael Patrick Needham and his wife, Rhonda, of San Antonio and Jeffrey Franklin Needham and his wife, Jennifer, of Fort Worth; great-granddaughters, Carlotta Grace Murrin, Mary Elizabeth Murrin, Hannah Grace Needham and Annette Ainsley Franke, all of Fort Worth; great-grandsons, Louis Stephen Morel L'Horset of Paris, France, Ryan Edward Dunn, Philip Murrin Jr., Stephen Olav Murrin and Earl John Willing Needham, all of Fort Worth, and Tanner Michael Needham of San Antonio; and nieces, Dru Anne and her husband, Max Faeth, of Van Nuys, Calif., and Cathy Vandervort and her husband, Dennis, of Glendale, Calif.
