She was the daughter of Bernard N. 'Ben' and Clara M. (Wendel) Meier. On May 30, 1942, she married Norbert J. Kohnen, who survives.
Also surviving two sons: Ronald (fiance' Karen Rasawehr Shafer) and Timothy (fiance' Tracy Lautzenheiser), both Celina; three daughters: Karen (Kirk) Habegger, Decatur, IN, Marilyn Reser, Lima, and Patricia (Tom) McDermitt, Celina; two brothers: Ernest (Pat), Seattle, WA, and Charles (Mary Catherine), Celina; two sisters: Roseann Puthoff, Minster, and Janet (Ronnie) Stachler, Celina; and sixteen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a sister, Lucille (Lowell) Loughridge; two brothers-in-law: Don Nelson and Leander Puthoff; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Mary Meier.
A homemaker, she helped manage the family poultry farm. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Celina. She was an awesome baker. Her specialties were bread and coffeecakes. She enjoyed sewing clothes for her children and making doll clothing. She made quilt squares and did beautiful embroidery work. Other pastimes were reading and gardening. She helped care for her grandchildren over the years and enjoyed spending time with all the family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, Celina, with Rev. Ken Schnipke, C.PP.S., officiating.
