92, of Cahokia, Illinois.
born February 21, 1917 in St. Louis, Missouri. passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at his residence.

Mr. Spier was a U.S. Navy Veteran, he served in World War II in the Sea Bees.

He retired after 37 years at Bi-State Transportation in East St. Louis, Illinois.

He belonged to the Cahokia Moose Lodge 423, Knights of Columbus Council 4596; Leo Jerome Council 1666 4th Degree Knights; V.F.W. Post 1699; American Legion Post 784; Legion of the Moose 101; St. Catherine's Laboure Catholic Church; and St. Catherine's Men's Club, all in Cahokia, IL.

Preceded in death by:
his wife, Margaret Spier;
a son in law, Darryl Mask;
parents, Daniel and Sophia Spier;
and his dog, Princess.

Surviving are his daughter,
Judith Mask of Cahokia, IL;

a sister, Virginia Bedrosian of St. Louis, MO;

six granddaughters;
Stefanie (Jeremy) Kreamalmeyer of Dupo, IL, Melisa Greene of Dupo, IL,
Amanda Eads of Cahokia, IL,
Allison Eads of Cahokia, IL,
Aimee Eads of Dupo, IL, and
Annette Eads of Cahokia, IL;
13 great grandchildren.

He was a dear uncle, cousin, and friend.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Illinois. with Father Paul Wienhoff officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.

Visitation will be on Monday, December 7, 2009 from 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. to time of service. A Moose Pilgrim service at 7:30 p.m.. on Monday

A special thanks to the V.N.A. Tip Hospice of Belleville, Illinois. A Moose services will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
